FAA Hosts AMT / Repair Station Safety Stand Down

On December 3 and 4, the FAA will conduct a free two-day online safety seminar series aimed at aviation maintenance technicians and repair-station personnel, with inspection authorization (IA) renewal credit available. The event includes eight hours of virtual programming and is supported by the Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) and the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA).

The Stand Down format allows maintenance teams a structured pause from daily operations to refocus on safety fundamentals, emerging risks, and lessons learned. With sessions spanning both fixed-wing and rotorcraft topics—from rigging and wiring to borescope inspections and drug-testing compliance—the content is widely applicable across maintenance operations. Eligible technicians may also earn IA renewal credit. The FAA’s collaboration with ARSA and AEA reinforces the industry’s continued focus on elevating maintenance safety standards.
