ATEC Journal: Fall 2025

The Fall 2025 edition features three articles that focus on practical improvements in aviation maintenance training. The first looks at why countersunk rivet repairs can be difficult to match precisely and shows how a simple, self-made tool improved accuracy in a live sheet metal project. The second walks through how an AMT program used affordable 3D printing to create parts, training aids, and tools that keep aging aircraft and equipment in service, while also outlining the limitations and safety considerations. The third shares insights from industry focus groups on how to assess transversal competencies within CBTA, emphasizing clear rubrics, consistent evaluation, and the use of personal competency portfolios. Together, these articles highlight hands-on solutions, modern classroom tools, and thoughtful assessment practices that strengthen AMT education.
