ATEC Working Group Advances FAA Mechanic ACS Updates

Webinars,

An ATEC working group is actively developing recommended updates to the FAA Mechanic Airman Certification Standards (ACS). The effort is informed in part by a NASA-funded study designed to capture data on the skills and knowledge today’s aviation mechanics need to support an evolving aerospace industry. The research also seeks to identify gaps and ensure the technical workforce is fully prepared to meet future demands.

The working group recently reviewed findings from the first phase of the study, which highlighted immediate needs and skill gaps in the current mechanic ACS. These results will guide the group as it drafts Revision 1 of the Mechanic ACS.
