ATEC Academy Celebrates Summer 2026 Graduates

ATEC is proud to recognize graduates of its Summer 2026 ATEC Academy cohort. The group began its professional development experience at Tulsa Technology Center – Riverside Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where participants gathered for the Academy's in-person "Take Off" session in June. Following the session, instructors transitioned to virtual learning and independent coursework.

The ten-week course provided comprehensive training in active teaching strategies, student behavior management, assessment and evaluation methods, lesson planning for both the classroom and hangar, and current trends in higher education. With a focus on teaching pedagogy and best practices, participants completed assignments designed to strengthen instructional effectiveness and enhance student engagement, retention, and persistence.

Summer 2026 ATEC Academy participants represent aviation maintenance educators from schools across the country. To complete the program, participants are required to submit observations, interviews, teaching reflections, and a 30–45-minute instructional video demonstrating their teaching skills in action. The program also included virtual workshops covering topics such as New and Innovative Teaching Apps, Shop Rubric Development, and Behavior Management. Throughout the course, participants received individualized feedback and coaching from Academy facilitators to support continuous improvement in their teaching practices.

ATEC Academy is pleased to recognize the following Summer 2026 graduates:

  • Gerald Cobb, Tulsa Tech
  • Kathryne Curtis, Tulsa Tech

Congratulations to these graduates on completing the ATEC Academy and demonstrating their commitment to strengthening aviation maintenance education.
