Choose Aerospace Establishes the Dr. Tammera Holmes Youth Educator of the Year Award

Choose Aerospace has established the Dr. Tammera Holmes Youth Educator of the Year Award to recognize educators serving high school students who are expanding access to aviation careers and strengthening the future workforce.

The award honors the legacy of Dr. Tammera Holmes, a Choose Aerospace board member and nationally recognized aviation education advocate. As founder of AeroStar Avion Institute, Holmes focused on increasing awareness of aviation careers and creating pathways for students—particularly those from underrepresented communities—to enter the industry.

The inaugural award was presented to Brandi Peace at the 2026 ATEC Annual Conference, recognizing her contributions to aviation education and student engagement.

ATEC and Choose Aerospace will present the award annually to highlight the role of early pathway educators in supporting the aviation maintenance workforce pipeline.
