ATEC Joins Aviation Industry Coalition in Support of ATC Modernization

ATEC joined more than 50 aviation organizations in signing a letter to Congressional appropriations leaders supporting continued investment in ATC modernization.

The letter, submitted by the Modern Skies Coalition, encourages Congress to build on recent investments by providing the additional funding needed to complete the Federal Aviation Administration's Brand-New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS). Coalition members emphasized that a fully modernized air traffic control system is essential to maintaining the safety, efficiency and long-term reliability of the National Airspace System.

While much of the discussion around air traffic control modernization focuses on technology and infrastructure, these investments also depend on a strong aviation workforce. As the industry replaces aging equipment, upgrades facilities and deploys new technologies, the need for skilled aviation maintenance professionals will continue to grow.

ATEC is proud to stand alongside aviation organizations from across the industry in supporting policies that strengthen the nation's aviation system while reinforcing the importance of workforce development.

The coalition's letter also highlights the value of continued collaboration among Congress, the FAA, industry and labor organizations throughout the modernization effort and calls for sustained oversight to help ensure the program's long-term success.
