Professional Bio

Dr. Michael J. Williams is currently a Professor of Management in the David B. O’Maley College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. His academic areas of expertise include information systems, radio frequency identification (RFID), intermodal transportation, and aviation management. Dr. Williams holds a Ph.D. in Computer Technology from Nova Southeastern University, and a Masters of Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Certifications include FAA Mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings, FAA Part 107 sUAS Remote Pilot, CompTIA RFID+, and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) for Machinery & Technical Specialties – Aircraft. Awards include the ATEC Ivan D. Livi Aviation Maintenance Educator of the year Award for 1992. His research interests include: aircraft maintenance, intermodal transportation systems, aviation management, radio frequency identification (RFID), and information systems. Dr. Williams’ work has appeared in such publications as the World Review of Intermodal Transportation Research; Transport Policy; International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace; World Review of Science; Technology & Sustainable Development; Journal of Air Transportation; Air Transport Security: Issues, Challenges and National Policies; and, Multimodal Transport Security: Frameworks and Policy Applications in Freight and Passenger Transport.
