Professional Bio
As senior vice president of operations, Carlos Zendejas oversees Horizon Air's flight operations, maintenance & engineering, and station operations, including setting the long-term strategy and overseeing the financial performance of those workgroups. This role is a key leadership position at Horizon Air and is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, reliable, and regulatory compliant operations that meet all FAA requirements relating to Part 121 and the airline’s operating certificate.
Previously, Carlos served as the vice president of flight operations at Horizon from 2020-2025. In that role, he was responsible for safe, reliable and compliant flight operations as well as regulatory compliance with all FAA requirements. He served as a key member of the senior executive team, overseeing pilot training, flight standards, operational control, crew scheduling, emergency management, operational recovery, meteorology, communications and navigation.
Prior to that, Carlos served in multiple positions at Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines, including Seattle-based chief pilot, manager of line flying operations and line pilot of the MD 80 and 737.
