Professional Bio
In his expanded role as Senior Vice President of Operations at Horizon, 35-year industry veteran Carlos Zendejas will oversee flight operations, maintenance & engineering and station operations.
Prior to joining Alaska and Horizon, Zendejas spent 22 years in the U.S. Air Force. During his more than 20 years at the airlines, Zendejas has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. Prior to joining Horizon in 2017, Zendejas served as Alaska’s Seattle base chief pilot, responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of more than 1,000 pilots in Seattle, including close coordination with the station.
Zendejas was promoted to Horizon VP of Flight Operations in 2020. In addition to overseeing Horizon’s nearly 700 pilots, he’s worked closely with other operational leaders across Alaska and Horizon.
