Professional Bio
As vice president of maintenance & engineering for Horizon Air, Baron Converse is responsible for the long-term strategy and daily operational execution of the maintenance organization. Baron's team of senior leaders and technical professionals is responsible for line maintenance operations, airframe/component/ engine maintenance, quality assurance, maintenance planning, engineering and reliability, fleet projects and stores and distribution.
Previously, Baron served as managing director of maintenance operations, providing strategic and operational leadership for the maintenance operations division at Horizon Air. In that role, he collaborated with his team and leaders to ensure that high standards of performance are maintained in the areas of safety, compliance, costs and quality.
Prior to that, Baron served Horizon Air as the director of line maintenance and planning, where he ensured all phases of the maintenance programs were accomplished safely and on time. His energetic and collaborative approach increased productivity and the quality of projects.
He joined Horizon Air in 1994 as an airframe and powerplant technician, which led to other leadership roles in the maintenance division.
