Professional Bio
Fernando D. Cifuentes Sanchez was born and raised in Guatemala, the “Land of Eternal Spring,” where the beauty of the skies and towering volcanoes inspired his passion for aviation. In 2016, he moved to Tennessee to pursue his professional goals, earning a B.S. in Aerospace from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and obtaining FAA ratings as an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic.
After beginning his career as an aircraft mechanic, Fernando returned to MTSU to earn a Master of Science in Aerospace Safety and Security. With nearly five years of hands-on experience and exposure to multiple airframes, he now shares his knowledge in the classroom, emphasizing safety, professionalism, and continuous learning in an ever-evolving aviation environment. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota (UND), further advancing his expertise and commitment to the field.
Fernando is dedicated to fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment where students and professionals alike are encouraged to explore, innovate, and grow alongside advancements in aviation and aerospace.
