Professional Bio

Sheryl Oxley is a dedicated aviation maintenance professional and educator with over four decades of experience across military, commercial, and technical education sectors. She joined Tulsa Tech in 2004 as an Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructor, teaching Airframe, Powerplant, and General subjects in both high school and adult programs. In 2015, she was appointed Aviation Programs Coordinator, where she continues to lead with distinction.
Sheryl’s aviation journey began with 27 years of honorable service in the United States Air Force, where she served as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and Phase Dock Chief on F-16 and A-10 aircraft, deploying to multiple combat regions. Her civilian aviation experience includes maintenance roles with Delta Airlines, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and Bombardier Aerospace, covering both hangar heavy maintenance and line maintenance. She also has experience in combat tank simulator and flight simulator maintenance.
A passionate advocate for aviation education, Sheryl has coordinated and led student volunteer efforts at EAA AirVenture and KidVenture. She has served as a PAMA Olympic and MRO AMC Coach, and has been a Designated Mechanic Examiner since 2008. She has also spearheaded exemption requests for Tulsa Tech’s AMT Part 147 Program and played a key role in its realignment under the new FAA Part 147 regulations.
Sheryl holds a Bachelor of Science in Career and Technical Education from Oklahoma State University (2008) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC). Her leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to student success continue to shape the future of aviation maintenance education.
