About ATEC

ATEC members are guaranteed a seat at the table as the future of technical workforce development becomes reality. This valuable access comes in many forms; here are just a few ways ATEC supports the aviation technician education community:

Representation.

ATEC is the voice of aviation technician education, its regulatory and legislative advocacy advances an industry-focused aviation technician workforce agenda. We saw a great example of the power of our coalition with smooth implementation of the industry-drafted new part 147. We hope the regulatory reform is a welcome change for your program.

Awareness.

The Choose Aerospace aviation maintenance curriculum—created in partnership with ATEC—is being used across the country to drive more students into aviation careers. A&P schools can take advantage of the tools and resources available to develop new pipelines into their program, and industry can support local networks to serve employment needs.

Access.

Members have exclusive access to our comprehensive Member Directory—a powerful tool designed to elevate your professional network and enhance your industry knowledge. This feature-rich directory not only provides a consolidated repository of member contact information and demographics for all FAA-certificated A&P schools, but also offers a gateway to a wealth of expertise and mentorship opportunities.

Information.

ATEC news ensures you are always in the know. Membership also supports monthly distribution of the council newsletter, publication of the ATEC Journal, a compilation of peer-reviewed papers on teaching techniques and research, and the Pipeline Report, an annual account of trends in aviation workforce development. Members also have access to the ATEC Library, containing a host of information and resources for A&P schools.

Resources.

Developed through member collaboration, the council creates tools to help educators tackle the day-to-day. Check out our upcoming and previous webinars (members only) and resources, available only to members. Members also have access to expertise from executive leadership and peers in the A&P community. Contact Us with your part 147 regulatory questions or check A Member Asked for responses to frequently asked questions.

Recognition and Support.

Each year the community recognizes outstanding leadership and achievement for one educator and one student through the Ivan D. Livi and James Rardon awards. All members are welcome to nominate individuals for the prestigious award. ATEC members are also eligible for the scholarships offered by Choose Aerospace.
