DESCRIPTION: Minneapolis Community and Technical College is seeking a permanent, full-time instructor in the Aircraft Technician Program (ATP) within the School of Trade Technologies. This is an opportunity for an unlimited probationary position, the two-year college equivalent to a tenure track position.
The individual in this position will serve as the program's backup liaison with both the Federal Aviation Administration and Delta Air Lines.
APPOINTMENT: Unlimited full-time (UFT) START DATE: Fall Semester 2019 (August 21, 2019)
OUR AIRCRAFT TECHNICIAN PROGRAM: MCTC educates students for careers as aviation maintenance technicians by teaching the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant curriculum (14 CFR Part 147.) The ATP program consists of three cohorts of 25 students each. Our objective is to prepare students to pass the Airframe and Powerplant license examination and obtain post-graduation employment as "A&P Licensed" aviation maintenance technicians.
We teach our ATP program students in class room and lab space located in the Delta Air Lines C Building at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
Our ATP program is one of Delta Air Lines' "preferred" aviation maintenance technician schools. ATP students and faculty benefit from a School Partnership Agreement between MCTC and Delta Air Lines that provides the program with access to the support of one of the nation's largest air carriers.

SALARY: Instructor salaries currently range from $37,437 - $82,417 annually on the basis of education and experience; salary schedule placement is determined in accordance with the 2017 - 2019 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Provide quality teaching in assigned field of study • Participate in student assessment, ATP department, and School of Trade Technologies meetings • Participate actively in the college community through committee work and interdepartmental collaboration • Utilize campus technology to stay current in field of study and the profession and connect to faculty, staff and students OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to satisfy requirements for issuance of a contractor's T.O.C. security badge issued by Delta Air Lines, including, but not limited to, the ability to pass the required background check.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Must possess or meet minimum qualifications for Minnesota State colleges and universities credential field of Aviation Maintenance, #500190: http://www.minnstate.edu/system/asa/academicaffairs/cfc/fields/Code/credentials.php? action=view&cid=324 Education Requirement • Diploma in aviation maintenance Occupational Experience Requirement • Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in aviation maintenance Recency Requirement • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
