This position is responsible for providing instruction and serving as advisor to students enrolled in the Aerospace Composites Technician Certificate program and the overall Aerospace Advanced Manufacturing Degree pathway of which that certificate is a part. This position will be responsible to revise and improve program curriculum based on industry feedback and methodologies. This position will also maintain and improve program equipment and the learning environment.
A minimum of six years of recent related industry experience OR an Associate’s degree in a related post-secondary or professional-technical education program and four years of recent experience in an area related to the needs of the position OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related area and three years of recent experience related to the needs of the position. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds. Prior teaching experience in higher education preferred. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanic Certificate preferred. Experience with additive manufacturing, quality assurance, non-destructive testing, and/or computer aided design will benefit this position.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Community & Technical College (UAF CTC) seeks an experienced leader to serve as the Director of Aviation programs.
Instructional duties include, but are not limited to, teaching aviation courses, advising students, evaluating textbooks, revising and developing curriculum (to include online courses); creating a productive academic environment for faculty, staff and students; providing academic oversight to include enrollment management, coordinating semester course schedules, and directing workflow for faculty, program assistants and administrative assistants; and leading student learning outcomes review assessment to ensure success as demonstrated by high pass rates on FAA certification exams. This is a full time, non-represented, 12 month administrative faculty position.
