This position is responsible for providing instruction and serving as advisor to students enrolled in the Aerospace Technology - Aviation Maintenance Program each semester. This position will also maintain accountability for program equipment, instructional recordkeeping and the learning environment.
Education/Experience requiredFederal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanic Certificate with Airframe rating, AND a minimum of six years of recent related experience OR an Associate’s degree in a related post-secondary or professional-technical education program and six years of recent experience in an area related to the needs of the position OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related area and three years of recent experience related to the needs of the program. FAA Powerplant certificate preferred.

Instructor/Assistant Professor of Aviation Maintenance, Blue Ridge Community College, Weyers Cave, VA
The AMT program is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill a full time faculty position. The workload for this position includes teaching and service.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses in the AMT program at BRCC, in compliance with the FAA approved FAR Part 147 curriculum. Incumbent will be proactive in developing and modifying curriculum for delivery and other teaching modalities in aviation maintenance, including distance education. The primary responsibility for this position is teaching a variety of undergraduate courses. Course subject areas may be any subject within FAR Part 147 Appendix B, C and D depending on program needs and faculty qualifications.
